Service

By God’s grace we have been set apart from worldly pursuits of greatness. We are called to serve others with the grace and love that God has entrusted to us. God rewards those who give their time, money, and talents to help others in need. In God’s upside down Kingdom, those who serve are the greatest all, reflecting the character of Jesus himself, “who came not to be served but to serve” (Matthew 20:28).

Our Saint Bernard students experience various service opportunities throughout the year. We teach our students that small acts of kindness make a big difference.

In honor of Saint Bernard’s Feast Day in August, each class chooses a service project. This year’s projects included cleaning the school gymnasium and helping setup for the church picnic, creating cards for the residents at The Waters of Rockport Nursing Home, cleaning the church, picking up trash around the school and parish grounds, collecting non-perishable items for the Blessings Box, and more.

We had several holiday-themed service projects in December 2022 aimed at helping kids and families in our community.

Fa La La La CASA supported Spencer County CASA. Thanks to the generosity of our school families and our Builders Club, we sent $1,044! This donation was used to purchase holiday gift cards for kids CASA helps advocate for throughout the year!

Dreamin’ of a White Christmas was a pajama drive for Isaiah House. We collected over $125 and 70+ pairs of pajamas for the children benefiting from the services Isaiah 1:17 House provides.

Spreading Holiday Cheer + Cereal resulted in loads of non-perishable donations for the Rockport Christian Resource Center.
