Saint Bernard Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten is a registered ministry of Saint Bernard Catholic Church. Saint Bernard Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten is a Paths to QUALITY, Level 4 program. Paths to Quality is a state facilitated voluntary child care rating system. Saint Bernard Preschool is proud to be the only Level 4 Paths to Quality provider in Spencer County. According to in.gov, “Level 4 programs are the highest-rated programs and have demonstrated a commitment to the highest level of professionalism in high-quality child care—achievement of a nationally recognized accreditation. Level 4 programs are managed by a provider or director who has volunteered to provide mentoring to others in the field.” Our national accreditation is through Cognia, a non-profit, non-partisan organization that conducts rigorous, on-site external reviews of Pre-K-12 schools and school systems to ensure that all learners realize their full potential. We go above the state requirements of ministries to give your child excellent care and an excellent start in his/her educational journey.

Al’s Pals
Al’s Pals is a nationally recognized social-emotional program that is used with our Preschool and Pre-K students. Children learn important social-emotional skills through lessons taught by puppets and fun music. The social-emotional skills your child will gain through this program include:
- Self-control
- Better problem solving abilities
- Healthy decision making
- How to regulate own feelings and behavior
- Helps students learn conflict resolution
- Peaceful problem solving
- Positive social relationships
Financial Assistance
Saint Bernard Preschool has been approved to offer assistance through the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) and On My Way Pre-K. These vouchers may cover 100% of tuition and fees. This past school year, over 25% of our families received Build, Learn, Grow Scholarships. This non-competitive scholarship was offered to children who had a parent classified as an essential worker. This scholarship covered 20-80% of the child’s tuition. We are always happy to look for scholarships and other forms of financial assistance that make an education at Saint Bernard more affordable as needs arise.
